With 63 co-working spaces and over 11,000 members, the Impact Hub global network provides a wealth of resources, partnerships and collaborative opportunities. As a member of Impact Hub Stockholm you too have the opportunity be a part of this global network and connect with thousands of amazing people all over the world.
How can you make the best use of the Impact Hub’s global network? We spoke to some of our members to learn more about their experiences and top tips for making the most of the global membership:
Check into Impact Hub on your travels
When planning a city visit check out if there is an Impact Hub: if there is make sure you visit! Impact Hub’s are great places to visit whether you are travelling for business or pleasure. Visiting an Impact Hub provides “a welcoming place, wherever you are”, says Andrea Hessmo, web editor at Impact Hub Stockholm.
A warm welcome is guaranteed at every Impact Hub regardless of whether you make contact beforehand or simply show up! Jonas Bygdeson, founder of MyDreamNow checked in to Impact Hub Athens and was invited to an evening event whilst on a trip there. When Henrik Westregård, Head of Analytics at CSR i Praktiken, visited London he dropped into Impact Hub Islington and was invited to join their community for an afterwork event.
Top tip: Always check out what’s happening at the Impact Hub in the city you are visiting.
Discover innovative co-working design
Interior design is the most visual aspect of any co-working space and every Impact Hub around the world has its own unique design. Henrik mentions how Impact Hub Islington features “old fashioned interior…mixed with a cosy kitchen and areas where you can host private or open-air meetings on pillows which fits well to this hipster-friendly district of London.”
Yoav Goldwein, Project Manager at Impact Hub Stockholm has worked at Hub Melbourne and visited the Hubs in Berlin, Madrid and Tel Aviv. On his visit to Impact Hub Berlin Yoav enjoyed the small, but well designed co-working space. Impact Hub Berlin is a part of a funky complex named “Agora”, the tall and narrow building is divided into different levels with diverse uses like cafe, art studios, gallery and co-working spaces. Agora collective is where art and social entrepreneurship combine to create a community space for facilitating change. Whilst in Madrid, he was impressed by the beauty and uniqueness of the three Impact Hub spaces, and while working at Hub Melbourne he learnt how to combine a digital space with the physical space by screening the feed of the member’s private social network on the wall.
Top tip: Be inspired by the design of each individual Impact Hub co-working space.
Meet other members
Our members are our greatest resource and Impact Hub members across the global network are open to meeting each other, sharing ideas and collaborating for a better future. No matter which Impact Hub you are at, members are friendly, open and easy to connect with. At Impact Hub Westminster, Henrik connected with an “interesting entrepreneur talking about obstacles with sustainable business in London.”
When Jonas Bygdeson visited Impact Hub Athens he quickly made contact with a member working to combat high youth unemployment in Greece. Jonas feels that there are “great opportunities for using the Impact Hub network” especially when MyDreamNow is ready to scale internationally. The exchange of of ideas and knowledge amongst members across the globe makes the Impact Hub community dynamic and energetic.
Top tip: Utlise the global network to meet like-minded entrepreneurs.
Share skills and explore the global resources
One of the things that Andrea appreciated whilst working at Impact Hub Singapore that were available to members, especially in the form of their business coach who provided help and assistance to budding start-ups: “you receive excellent personal business advice whenever you need it and it’s free!” Impact Hub Singapore’s collaboration with the Creative Mornings series ensured that she had access to people from the creative industries in the city.
At Impact Hub Stockholm we like to work and collaborate with our members. Members contribute their professional skills in exchange for membership and this has created a collaborative environment where we are able to benefit from each others’ skills.
Top tip: make use of the global resources!
