Last March we read the Doughnut Economics by Kate Raworth and watched her TED talk. We discussed the ideas behind the 21st century economics model which is built on a strong social foundation but within the ecological boundaries for us to thrive. The Doughnut has come up again and again since and I am pleased to bring it back again to Green Drinks in March!
We will watch a short video where Kate Raworth explains the Doughnut Economics and how to downsize the Doughnut into a City portrait. We will then workshop to create a strategy for Stockholm. We will work through the four lenses of social and ecological values on both the local and global levels. We will use the worksheets produced by DEAL and work on it together digitally on Slides.
Everyone is welcome to join us – whether it’s the first time you have heard of Doughnut Economics or have never been to Stockholm. There are lots of inter-connected issues which we can relate to, no matter where we live.
Green Drinks is an informal social where everyone who is interested in green issues can grab a drink and mingle with like-minded people. We meet on the first Tuesday of every month at our new time of 8pm to 9:30pm.
Stockholm is the 596th city to join the Green Drinks global network, with the first drinks on Tuesday 6 November 2018 at the Scandic Downtown Camper, then at Kalf & Hansen at St Eriksplan from February 2019, at Openlab from November 2019 and now mainly digitally since the Covid-19 pandemic.
