The pandemic has encouraged a swathe of developments in the health-tech sphere and has driven acceptance of digital health innovation amongst both practitioners and patients, with Telemedicine solutions and Wellbeing or Contact Tracing Apps being two prominent examples.

The UK is home to thousands of health-tech start-ups, the fastest growing sector in the UK tech space, and in Germany the Digital Healthcare Act was adopted just last year, paving the way for reimbursement of digital health solutions by statutory health insurers. But regulatory challenges, particularly around handling data and reimbursement strategies, continue to pose significant barriers to the successful adoption of health-tech in both countries.

In this interactive talk, we will explore how Germany and the UK can make sure we take forward what we have learned of the pandemic, and encourage a steady increase in the pace of adoption of new technologies.

We will hear from both the UK and Germany about recent progress, novel solutions, outstanding challenges and best-practice, as both countries work to overcome regulatory challenges, whilst ensuring the interests of the patient remain at the heart of new innovations.
